Funding Fairness and Wildfire Safety
The South Lake County Fire Protection District (SLCFPD) faces two critical issues: severe funding challenges and an escalating regional wildfire threat.
Securing Fair and Sustainable Funding
Roberta will seek additional revenue to cover out-of-county responses now subsidized by local residents. She will work with district, county, state, and neighboring agency partners to pursue reimbursements, grants, state funding, and other support so the district is fairly compensated for the services it provides.
Working Together to Reduce Wildfire Risk
Roberta will work closely with the South Lake Fire Safe Council and the Lake County Fire Safe Council to support projects that make neighborhoods safer. By strengthening coordination among these councils, the fire district, CAL FIRE, county officials, and residents, Roberta will help South Lake County improve preparedness, and reduce wildfire hazards.
